ABOUT - Lois M. Bos

Lois has loved words from a young age and vividly remembers her first taste of editing in her early teens. Her friend had written an episode for a TV show. Lois felt the story lacked interest, so she rewrote several parts. That was long before she knew the terms plot, conflict, climax and resolution and that editors make suggestions, not rewrites!

After college, while teaching at the middle school level, Lois was asked to co-author a manual on Science Fair Projects. There she rediscovered her gift of writing. When she left teaching for mission work, her monthly letters reflected her way with words and her editing suggestions improved her co-workers’ writing.

Years later, as a freelance writer, she had hundreds of local news, advertising and sports articles published. During her retail employment in various bookstores, Lois learned about the publishing industry and customer preferences.

Today, she is excited to integrate her skills from teaching, writing and selling books to help people get their message out in a compelling and professional fashion.

As a bronze member of The Christian PEN, Lois is actively developing her natural skill to become a recognized, professional editor.

Originally from Pennsylvania, she now calls Alberta, Canada her home. She met her husband at a Christian writers’ conference and they both volunteer to tutor newcomers in English.

"Lois Bos edited the second draft of my novel in 2013. Her comments were clear, insightful and sensitive. On the strength of this, I was able to produce a third draft that has been partially published and has drawn favourable comments from readers and reviewers."  Tony Hilling, Author of "The Voice of Aedistamen"

"Another favourite memory was in those early summers …, you editing lessons I’d written. I had never had a friend who could so skillfully improve what I’d written! You really blessed me there, Lois!" Dan Woodard, Cross-cultural consultant and author/facilitator of over 125 different workshops.

“Lois is phenomenal. I needed to write a difficult email and I turned to Lois for help. Her knowledge of grammar and layout are unsurpassed, and I couldn’t have done it without her. Lois gets my highest recommendation!”  Matthew M.
